acronym AIDA has perfectly summed up the objective of any project.
Attraction. Interest. Decision. Action.
Any advertisement or marketing tool must first attract the target audience,
before communicating sufficient information to generate interest. It
must then persuade the audience to make a decision (namely “I
want this, now!”) and to take action.
Whilst the principle is as true today in this on-line age as it ever
was, fewer and fewer agencies show themselves capable of producing all
four key effects. Those who can attract and interest often undervalue
the quantifiable action. Those who profess to be specialists in the
response frequently fail to provide anything original or eye-catching
enough to attract and interest in the first place.
